If you suffer from a large belly and always have to buy pants and blouses in larger sizes to accommodate your abdomen, then the Tummy Tuck procedure may be for you.

Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty as it is called in medical terms, is a procedure that applies to both men and women and is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedure procedures performed.

Even with a good diet and exercise, it is often not possible to get rid of the tummy pouch, that many people develop with age, weight gain and pregnancies.

Types of Tummy Tucks

The Tummy Tuck procedure can improve the appearance of excess fat, skin and tissue on the abdomen of healthy adults and eliminate the lower belly pouch and make your stomach more proportionate with the rest of your body.

There are two types of Tummy Tuck; Mini Tummy Tuck and Full Tummy Tuck. Both types of Tummy Tuck involves cutting a portion of the loose skin off the lower abdomen, then pull the remaining skin together and carefully stitch it together.

Full Tummy Tuck:

Full Tummy Tuck can be performed alone, but is often performed with liposuction to further improve body contour. The vertical abdominal muscles that have been stretched and weakened over time are tightened, which restores a much firmer and flatter stomach. The incision is normally made in shape of a smile that goes from hip to hip.

Partial Abdominoplasty

Mini Tummy Tuck:

Mini Tummy Tuck is a modified Tummy Tuck is ideal for patients who have excessive skin and fat between the belly button and pubic bone. The length of the incision depends of the amount of skin to be removed, but will subsequently be smaller than the incision for a full Tummy Tuck. Liposuction is commonly added to sculpt the area more definitively.
