Sandra Vasquez Kristiansen, MD. is a board certified physician focusing on cosmetic surgery and anti-aging since 1997.
In 2000 Dr. Vasquez Kristiansen became one of the pioneers in the use of Tumescent Anesthesia, the local anesthesia technique used in many minimal-invasive procedures today, such as SmartLipo liposuction, Fat Transfer (Brazilian Butt Lift) and Tummy Tuck.
She was the first physician in the area to perform both EVLT™ and VNUS Closure® procedures in her practice and was featured on CBS Evening News in 2001.
Dr Vasquez Kristiansen’s vast degree of experience in minimal-invasive procedures, combined with her extensive ongoing training in the field of Liposuction, Fat Transfer techniques and Regenerative Medicine, has led her to the forefront among her peers.
In 2006 Dr. Vasquez Kristiansen was again featured on CBS Evening News. This time for her pioneering of Mesotherapy treatment techniques in the US.
Dr Vasquez Kristiansen has been licensed in New York and Massachusetts for over 20 years. She graduated medical school (Cum Laude) at Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico. After graduating, she spent one year as a teaching assistant in the department of Cardiology at the U.A.G. and one year of General Surgery Rotating Internship.
Her post-graduate medical training was at Lincoln Medical Center (an affiliate of New York Medical College) in New York and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, a major teaching affiliate of University of Texas Medical School. Here she authored and co-authored several scientific articles, while doing clinical and research work. After being board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Vasquez Kristiansen worked in ER, managed care and at the Wound Care before starting her specialization in cosmetic surgery in 1997.
With her roots in the Latin-American culture (born and raised in beautiful Cartagena, Colombia), diversified experience and a natural eye for esthetic beauty, Dr. Vasquez Kristiansen is recognized by peers and patients for her outstanding results in body-sculpting.
